Most of you probably do it without giving it much thought, when you exit a retail store you show your receipt at the door and even let them look inside your bags. Well I don’t, the reason being I’m not going to allow the store to treat me like a common criminal nor violate my rights afforded me under the fourth amendment.
If you ever notice it is only the retail stores that cater to low to mid income families that do this making it even more of a discriminatory statement - Home Depot, Best buy, Walmart, eg… so if you are low to mid income you’re a thief? The reason they mark your receipt is so that you don’t go back into the store and select the same items again and make your way out with a double whammy.
Well I’m not a thief and I’m not going to be inconvenienced having to do an additional line nor have some knuckle head go through my bags which are now MINE and protected by the fourth amendment. The stores should invest in a good video surveillance system to protect themselves, rather than harass store patrons. DON’T SHOW THEM ANYTHING THE NEXT TIME YOU GO OUT THE DOOR- THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AS IT IS NOT A LAW IN THE BOOKS OF FLORIDA.
